About Aunt Betty’s Ice Cream Shack
Yes! There is a relation between Uncle Bill’s Pancake House and Aunt Betty’s Ice Cream Shack! Aunt Betty’s was named after the O’Hara family matriarch, Betty O’Hara (Bill’s wife).
Aunt Betty’s Ice Cream Shack opened its doors in the summer of 2006 on 21st street, next to Uncle Bill’s Pancake House and behind Blitz’s Market. The storage shed was transformed into an ice cream shack serving both hard and soft ice cream in a tropical setting complete with palm trees, island-inspired fans, Reggae music, and a bamboo deck. Based off of the same principles of quality food, efficient service, and a clean family‐fun atmosphere, Aunt Betty’s has become a top‐notch ice cream parlor and is already an Ocean City tradition. In 2008, Aunt Betty’s 2nd location was opened at 40th street and West Ave. in Ocean City. Aunt Betty’s and Uncle Bill’s
have combined forces there in the evening to serve up dinner and ice cream in
the dining room.
Aunt Betty’s staff and customers return year after year, a testament to our continued success. In 2010, Aunt Betty’s was named Best of the Shore in Philadelphia Magazine and New Jersey Monthly! Philadelphia Magazine again
praised Aunt Betty’s in 2013 as an ice cream hot spot with “the cheeriest, fastest-serving counter girls along the whole Shore.” We are very proud to be a Jersey
Shore icon and work hard to keep up our good reputation.
